| About Malta |
Location: Southern Europe, islands in the Mediterranean Sea, south of Sicily. The country comprises an archipelago, with only the three largest islands (Malta, Gozo, and Comino) being inhabited.
Major Attractions:-
Beaches - Malta has a variety of bays, creeks, sandy beaches and rocky coves to suit all tastes with the larger sandy beaches situated in the north. There are regular daily boat trips to Comino's Blue Lagoon where you can swim in the clear azure water..
History - Over 7000 years of history with much of it still visible today makes the island like a giant open air museum. Not to be missed are the 16th century capital Valletta and the medieval Mdina.
Scenery - The honey-coloured stone against the deepest of Mediterranean blues provides a striking contrast. From Mdina it is possible to see the whole island.
Nightlife: Very lively in Paceville and St Julian's with lots of nightclubs. Lively in the coastal resorts of St Paul's Bay, Bugibba and Qawra with ample choice of restaurants and bars. Much quieter on Gozo and away from the resorts. |
